GOOD PAYING JOBS FOR 18 YEAR OLDS
High school graduates looking for a job are of course interested in finding the highest paying ones they can find. Unfortunately, there aren’t a whole lot of options as good paying jobs for 18 year olds are scarce. Most high paying jobs go to college graduates and workers with experience or specialized work experience.
That doesn’t mean that you can’t work your way up to a good paying job if you have just graduated high school and aren’t going to college. Your best bet is to get yourself an entry level position in a company and prove to management that you are worthy of promotions. There are many entry level jobs that do not require much experience or a college degree and the important thing is to get your foot in the door.
Managers in most fields make good pay and that is something that can be achieved with hard work and a clean record. Whether it is in retail or some other field, there are millions of mid level and upper level managers across the country. Once you reach the point where you are in charge of others, you are usually making a nice respectable salary. The good thing is that in many cases, you don’t need a college degree to get there and just a lot of determination.
Other good paying jobs for high school graduates would be anything having to do with sales. If you are skilled at making and closing sales, you might want to get into something where you work on commission. Commission jobs are a different mindset than traditional hourly or salary jobs but if you are good at selling, you can make a lot of money. Many people who make their living from commission sales would reject an offer to move up into management because it would actually be a cut in pay.
Other good paying jobs for 18 year olds would be government jobs such as working for the post office. Post office jobs are relatively high paying and you have a lot of security as well as good benefits. Many kids start working part time for their local post office during college and end up never leaving as the pay is always just enough to keep them. Other government jobs are similar and many of them do not require any college.
Finally, selling real estate is something anyone can do who is able to pass some tests and become certified. This is similar to the commission jobs mentioned above and real estate sales has made many people a very good living. This is something you would have to be patient with and the harder you are willing to work the more of a chance you will have of success.
There are many jobs for 18 year olds that can lead to a great career but with the economy being so bad right now, they might be hard to find. Be patient, make connections, ask friends, and keep looking is your best course of action. Once you do find a job, make sure you show up on time, work hard, and try to advance your way up and soon you will find yourself with a good paying job.
